Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

May 26th marks the 35th anniversary of motorcycle daredevil Evel Knievel’s Wembley Stadium jump on May 26, 1975 in London. In front of 90,000 people, Knievel attempted to jump over thirteen single-deck AEC Merlin buses but crashed, breaking his pelvis. Though people didn’t think he would ever ride again, Knievel shocked everyone and returned to jumping by October 1975.

The exhibit, “True Evel: The amazing story of Evel Knievel” at the Harley-Davidson Museum will runs July 10 to September 6.

It tells the story of Knievel from his early days as a side-show character in Butte, Montana to his journey in becoming the most famous daredevil.

Remember to be safe and leave the stunts to the professionals.
